The engineering features of the rock mass slope in the city were analyzed, and the deficiencies of the current bio-engineering protection of rock mass slope and some new problems were pointed out. Based on the above analysis, a bio-engineering protection of the rock mass slope suitable for southern cities was proposed. The proposed bio-engineering protection of the rock mass slope was studied, and its stress mechanism was analyzed in the finite element method. The mechanical characteristics of the geotechnical grid and rock mass slope in the city were discussed, and the technical regulations of geotechnical grid bio-engineering protection of the rock mass slope in the city were proposed. At last, the method was applied to a engineering practice, and desirable social and economic benefit was obtained.
