Impaction and optimization of double U-throttle groove structure of multi-way valve on cavitation

Based on FLUENT software, mixture hybrid model and standard κ-Ε turbulence model were used to analyze the cavitation flow of multi-way valve double U-throttle groove. The simulation analysis revealed that the combinations of double U-throttle groove structure parameter C (length of 2th U-throttle groove), R1 (radiu of 1th U-throttle groove) and b (length of between two U-throttle groove bottom) have influence to cavitation and can inhibit the cavitation if the combination of parameters is properly choose. According to the analysis result of double-U throttle groove structure parameters, the Kriging was interpolated with C, R1 and b as independent variables and with the maximum of vapor volume fraction (χmax) as target value, and with gauss function as correlation. The Kriging agent model was solved by improved genetic algorithm, the optimized parameters of double U-throttle groove has the obviously inhibition cavitation performance is proved by simulation. ©, 2015, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
