Effects of mechanical error of screen on volumetric three-dimensional display

The influence of the panel's mechanical movement errors to the reconstruction quality of three-dimensional images was analyzed aimed at the volumetric three-dimensional display system based on two-dimensional light emitting diode (LED) rotating panel. The effects of swing and the main axial movement were mainly focused. The relationship between the amplitude of the errors and the display quality was constructed by the theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, and the maximum value of the two errors was given to keep the vertical and horizontal resolutions constant. The calculating method for the tolerance of mechanical systems of the volumetric three-dimensional display was obtained. Results show that the main axial movement influences the vertical resolution and swing influences the horizontal resolution.
