摘要
The study aimed to develop and assess curcumin-loaded polymeric nanoparticles using pullulan for biomedical applications. These nanoparticles were characterized for size, entrapment efficiency, polydispersity index, release kinetics, and stability. Cytotoxicity was assessed using a tetrazolium-based assay on various cell lines. The pullulan-based nanoparticles demonstrated nanometric size, narrow distribution, high entrapment efficiency (>80%), and excellent stability at 4 °C for over three months. Curcumin release was higher in neutral compared to slightly acidic medium, peaking at 72 hours. In vitro studies confirmed no cytotoxicity on tested cell lines, showcasing potential biomedical applications including cancer. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.
