No cold feet about the need for more coal

A renewed enthusiasm for coal-fired technologies is being seen to meet the growing demand of US electric power industry. The resurgent enthusiasm for coal lies in its economics and sustainable and growing nature as a fuel source. In comparison, the natural gas supply growth remains at less than 1 % despite record levels of drilling activity. Significant additions to existing capacity and replacement of current coal capacity with new, clean coal technology is considered essential.
