摘要
The purpose of the research reported here was to assess the range of color within a broad sample of flax fiber from domestic and international sources using color spectrophotometric methods. A total of 58 fiber samples was used, from the US, Canada, UK, Belgium and Spain, representing three different types of retting (dew, water and enzyme). A growing market for flax fiber and customers' expectations of consistency are leading to the development of standards and measurement methods to replace the traditional, non-objective methods.
