Drag reduction in channels on micro-nano structured super-hydrophobic surface by poly fluoride siloxane

The characteristic of flow drag reduction on a large area of micro-nano structured surface which was treated by poly fluoride siloxane was studied. Firstly, the micro-nano structured fly ash particles was prepared by coating process, and treated by poly fluoride siloxane. Secondly, the super-hydrophobic surface channel was achieved by bonding the particles with silicone rubbe. By comparing the channel with super-hydrophobic surface and normal surface, the results showed that when the flow of Reynolds number(Re) was below 1500, the laminar flow drag reduction was 25.6%, and when the Re was above 1500, the turbulent flow reduction could reach to 76.5%.
