摘要：

The advantages of voice over IP (VoIP) in relation to the PSTN are discussed. The higher prices along with the slow-moving circuit-switched PSTN that has urged various companies to opt for VoIP are analyzed. AT&T has already announced that its network is compatible with IP PBX with the ability to route traffic over IP with legacy PBX equipments. The advantages of customer mobile access to a local PoP by global VPN operators are also elaborated.
