摘要
The suitability of Cynara cardunculus, a source of lignocellulosic fibers, for pulps and papermaking industry was studied. The determination of fiber length, weight content, curl and kinks of fibers, using optical microscope and two fiber analyser equipments was analyzed. It was found that the density and internal cohesion increased with decreasing fibre length while tear, burst and tensile strength decreased with increasing fiber length. It was observed that flutting papers prepared from Cynara cardunculus pulps showed high mechanical properties with low Shopper Riegler degree and were prepared without refining.
