Research on optimal parameters of structure-TMD system to suppress seismic response of structures

Research is made on optimal parameters of structure-TMD system to control seismic response of structures, including the optimum location of TMD in the structure, the optimal frequency and damping ratio of TMD. TMD's effect on the untuned modes of the controlled structure is presented. Some approximate formulas for optimal parameters are derived. These provide theoretical basis for TMD used in suppressing seismic response of structure.
