Graphene sheets/polyaniline composites modified carbon paste electrode for the determination of Cd2+

The graphene sheets/polyaniline (GSs/PANI) composite was synthesized by using an in situ polymerization procedure, and was characterized by TEM and XRD. The composite was used to prepare graphene sheets/polyaniline composite modified carbon paste electrode (GSs/PANI-CPE), which was conducted to determine the electrochemical behavior of Cd2+ under different conditions in the three-electrode system by cyclic voltammetry. It was showed that the composite greatly enhanced the electrochemical performance of the GSs/PANI-CPE, which improved the signal response and selectivity of sensor to Cd2+. In the condition of the composite (0.5%) and the buffer solution (pH=10.75), the peak current varied linearly with the concentrate of Cd2+ over the range from 1.0×10-8 mol·L-1 to 2.0×10-5 mol·L-1 with the correlation coefficient of 0.9939 and the detection limit of 2.246×10-8 mol·L-1. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine.
