Experimental method for determining coupled structural-acoustic modes and comparison with calculations

A method for evaluating experimentally noise phenomena involving the complex coupling of a structural system and an acoustic system, as well as a method for validating the accuracy of a calculation model was studied. Four transfer characteristics in order to ascertain the characteristics of a coupled structural-acoustic system accurately by experimentation. These consist of two types of response, the acceleration of the structural system and the sound pressure of the acoustic system in relation to two excitation forces, When shaker excitation is applied. The accuracy of the large-scale car body models currently being used has not been sufficiently validated with respect to coupled modes. It is possible that the accuracy may be lower than expected, and there is a need to review the method used to validate calculation models.
