摘要
Avacon AG is operating a district heating network with a connected load of about 50 MW in Luneburg. Before the new plant was installed, the heat was generated by a heating and power station with a hot water boiler and three steam boilers for a heat extraction output of 40 MW. At the end of 1997 the decision was made to replace the combined heat and power plant by a gas engine cogeneration plant. The concept consisted in replacing the steam boiler and turbines by four hot water boilers and a gas engine with an electrical output of 4.6 MW. Space for a second gas engine was also considered. The engine was delivered at the beginning of September 1999 and has been running since December 1999.
