Metsa-Serla has restarted the papermaking machinery (PM) 8 at its Modo Husum mill in Sweden after an upgrade to switch production from uncoated to coated woodfree paper. The capacity of the mill has now increased from 185,000 tons per year to 300,000 tons per year of uncoated woodfree paper. There has been a total investment of SEK 2 billion which includes a finishing line for double-coated paper. A web monitoring system has also been installed.
