New method for measuring the muzzle velocity of multi-barrel rotary gun

Aim: To study an on-carriage muzzle velocity measuring system used in high rate-of-fire multi-barrel rotary guns. Methods: According to paired position testing theory a method for testing muzzle velocity is offered. Results: A new kind of muzzle velocity sensors is designed which features as small in size, simple in structure, high dependability and low cost. The experimental facilities are set up and the measured curves are given. Conclusion: It can be used to measure the muzzle velocity for rapid fire multi-barrel rotary gun.
