Discussion on classification systems of oil and gas resources and reserves

The classification of resources and reserves is the execution criterion in assessment and administration of oil and gas resources and reserves. It is also an important gist for constituting development and utilization program of national resources and for making the policy of resource management. At present, it is important to establish the ranking and classification systems for assessment of resources and for estimation and administration of reserves. The systems should meet the demands of assessment and management of resources and reserves in our country and also be basically connected our rail with the foreign ranking and classification systems. The international ranking and classification systems of resources and reserves were investigated, and a new ranking and classification system for assessment of oil and gas resources and reserves was presented, according to current actuality and future requirements of resource assessment, reserve estimation and administration. The new classification system has been joined with the classification history and connected with the international currency rules.
