摘要
In order to obtain an adjustable magnetic field distribution along the axial direction of billets, an prototype of HTS DC induction heater with adjustable air gap structure was proposed and fabricated in authors' laboratory. Heating experiments for uniform and gradient temperature distribution were performed with different air gap structures to validate the adjustabilty of air gap structure. In addition, a comparison analysis of heating results between single-side adjustment and double-side adjustment was made. A numerical model of heater was built to analyze the temperature distribution as well as the theoretical availability of adjustable air gap structure. © 2017, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press.
