Analysis of natural characteristics of membrane fluid pulsation attenuator

The structure of membrane fluid pulsation attenuator was proposed. Its mechanism of this attenuator is similar to that of resonant absorber with mass-spring structure. The mass of the resonator is replaced by a flexible hyperelasticity membrane. So the attenuator can be fabricated with compact structure, and the fatal shortcomings of bulky with traditional attenuator can be avoided. The dynamic model of the pre-stretch flexible membrane was established and the natural frequency was calculated theoretically. The fluid-structure coupling effect of the attenuator was modeled and the dynamic characteristics were simulated by the finite element method. The coupling frequency of the membrane was obtained. The results show that the membrane fluid pulsation attenuator is effective in attenuation of fluid pulsation of hydraulic systems, and when the membrane resonates, the insertion loss of the attenuator is more than 20 dB. ©, 2015, Central South University of Technology.
