摘要:
Hydrocyclones or cleaners are important fiber purification machines in paper making. They have no internal moving parts, and combine various forces to separate contaminants, that leave by the rejects orifice, from the purified fibres that leave by the accepts orifice. Separation efficiency is a function of temperature, consistency, pressure loss across the units, cleaner size and geometry, contaminant shape and density, and quantity of rejects. As rejects levels rise, fibers loss increases. An understanding of the explained principles of operation can enable plant operators to optimize performance and lower costs. The use of modeling as a tool to aid the correct choice of unit is suggested. To meet environmental standards, a use could be found for rejects as a raw material in industrial applications. This option would be preferable to in-house recycling, which could lead to the build-up of contaminants which would increase wear on processing systems due to their abrasive nature.
