An influence of activator type in the composition of saturating mixtures up on titanium plating iron, St45 and cast irons on elements distribution in the diffusion zone is studied. Two groups of activators such as NH4Cl, NH4F, NH4Br, NH4I, NH4FHF and NaF, AlF3, Na3AlF6, (C2F4)n are considered. A procedure for simultaneous determination of many elements in the thin layers is elaborated on the basis of emission spectral analysis. It is found that types of activators do not all aid a titanium layer forming and moreover, they prevent Ti permeation into the base.
