JSC Volga, Russia's second largest newsprint producer, is moving ahead with plans to meet the quality and environmental standards of its peer in the west. The company is the only Russian newsprint producer able to deliver paper by road direct to the customer's warehouse. The company aims to have 40% of its wood supply FSC certified by 2005. JSC Volga has also formally agreed to implement the WWF Russia standards for wood procurement.
