摘要：
The 'Rollers'2000' conference was held which was dedicated to problems in production and operation of mill rollers. At the conference, it has been noted that requirement to the roller quality have become more stringent. In connection with this, merger of roller-producing companies is performed in order to improve efficiency of production. This makes it possible to develop new technologies for manufacturing the rollers. Process of centrifugal casting has been improved. Optimal alloying of steels for the rollers has been discussed. Efficient methods of heat treatment of the rollers have been created. Electroslag surfacing of the roller has been developed.
