Scientific assessment is a key issue in college English teaching, and also can effectively promote English teaching quality. In this paper, we propose an English teaching level evaluation index system based on the analytic hierarchy process algorithm. Analytic hierarchy process refers to a powerful tool, which is inspired by the fact that the inherent complexity of a multiple criteria decision-making problem is modeled through breaking it down into several levels. We select several factors which are corresponding to the process of teacher teaching and student learning to make up the index system. Then, we propose an approach to compute index weight based on the analytic hierarchy process. Afterwards, we send out questionnaires to experts to evaluate the relative importance of indexes in the same layer and then construct the judgment matrix. Finally, experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed English teaching level evaluation index system.
