Creep resistance of Mg-Li matrix composites reinforced with MgO/Mg2Si particles

摘要
The creep resistance of MgO/Mg2Si particle-reinforced Mg-Li matrix composites, fabricated by the reaction synthesis technique, were studied at room and elevated temperature. The experimental results showed that the creep resistance of the composites was increased significantly in comparison to the matrix, and the creep mechanism was discussed. The structural stability of the composites was studied by elevated-temperature X-ray diffraction (200°C) and DSC (500°C), and showed that the size and shape of reinforcing particles are constant without forming new phases.
