Carsharing is one of the transport technologies affecting the modern panorama of urban mobility. Its progressive introduction in many cities-with variations in terms of both urban structure and mobility models- is currently being investigated to establish Its potential scope, benefits and effects. As underlined in this article, Spain and more specifically, Madrid, is at the very forefront in the adoption of these systems. © 2018 Colegio de Ingenieros de Caminos Canales y Puertos.
