摘要
A high performance Al-Al2O3 metal and oxide composite with Al content of 9% (in mass fraction) was prepared with phenolic resin as a binder. The samples dried for 24 h were heated in nitrogen atmosphere at 1300, 1500, 1600, 1700, and 1800 ℃ for 8 h, respectively. The results show that the residual carbon from the phenolic resin exists in Al4O4C or Al2OC after nitriding sintering, with little free carbon detected. The phase of the samples heated at 1300℃ are corundum and Al4O4C; corundum, Al4O4C and Al2OC at 1500-1700 ℃; and corundum and Al2OC at 1800 ℃. No Al4C3 appears at various temperatures. The apparent porosity of the sample heated at 1300, 1500 and 1600 ℃ is 6.0%-8.0%. The cold-crushing strength of the sample heated at 1600 ℃ is 535 MPa due to the presence of Al4O4C or Al2OC. © 2016, Chinese Ceramic Society. All right reserved.
