Mechanics working on Boeing's 777 program have demonstrated newer and faster way to drill holes on an airplane?s fuselage section. Boeing states that such advanced manufacturing represents the best practices that can be adopted in terms of processes and machines to make a product in a safer and more productive way. This means using technology to assist with more injury-prone tasks performed by mechanics at the company. The mechanics working in the company and the management have demonstrated that the majority of all injuries can be eliminated by designing for safe manufacturing.
