Content of phosphorus in usual cast iron is less than 0.1 percent. However, cast iron with phosphorus content of up to 0.3 percent should be tested. In connection with this, new technology for smelting the steel from such cast iron in basic oxygen converter has been developed. Mathematical models of qualities of the cast iron and produced steel have been created with the use of regression equation. Regularities in steel smelting from such cast iron have been determined. Steel of 3ps grade has successfully been produced from such cast iron. The operating costs have been reduced. The same quality of produced steel has been provided.
