The log-derived spectral gamma ray data was correlated to core-derived Qv data. The log-derived spectral gamma ray data was correlated to core-derived Qv data. The empirical correlations based on core and well logging parameters were established individually as no logging device existed. The digital interpretation technique was developed which was based on empirical correlation of core and spectral gamma ray data which provided continuous in-situ water saturation estimate based on the Waxman-Smits equation.
