摘要
The issue of global warming has gained significant attention because of expeditious industrial growth of developing nations and their small and medium enterprises (SMEs) not adopting modern manufacturing strategy like green manufacturing (GM). It is well-known that adoption of GM can enhance environmental performance. However, there are some potential barriers which oppose the implementation of GM. In order to eliminate these critical barriers, prioritisation is highly requisite. So, this paper aims to prioritise the potential barriers and categorise them into cause and effect groups also divulging their interrelationships by employing integrated grey-decision making trial and evaluation laboratory approach. Findings of present study shows that high implementation cost and insufficient return on investment is the most critical barrier and lack of top management commitment exhibits maximum correlation with other barriers. This study provides important insight for manager of SMEs to develop better decision making strategies to become more environmental friendly. Copyright © 2018 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
