Gas pipeline proposals reving interest in Arctic Canada E and D

Natural gas pipeline projects to tap Arctic Canada's natural gas reserves are seen as a possibility due to the increased natural gas demand in US market and healthy natural gas prices forecasting. Major producers with substantial reserves in the offshore Mackenzie delta are well into the feasibility study on development of delta reserves and a possible pipeline to South America. Analysts estimate that 2007 is the earliest date that the pipeline project could be completed with necessary regulatory requirements and construction phase before the gas will flow to the southern markets in US. The feasibility study results are expected in early 2001 and the scenario is optimistic for the development projects.
