Distribution and ages of the Devonian marine red beds from Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region

摘要：
Based on previous work on stratigraphy and palaeontolgy, six Devonian marine red beds have been recognized in Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region. They are Early Devonian XDRB1 Zhaxigang Formation marine red beds (Lochkovian to Pragian Stage); XDRB2 Cunjieqiao Formation (upper part) marine red beds (Emsian Stage); Middle Devonian XDRB3 Haitong Formation marine red beds (Eifelian Stage); XDRB4 Dingzhonglong Formation marine red beds (Givetian Stage); Late Devonian XDRB5 Chaguoluoma Formation marine red beds (Frasnian Stage) and XDRB6 Jiangge Formation marine red beds (Famennian Stage). All of them belong to the Shelf Red Beds (SRBs). Besides, the distribution of the Devonian marine red beds in South China and the global spatial distribution of Famennian (Devoian) Marine Red Beds are discussed. © 2019, Science Press.
