摘要
X-like CeO2 (X-CeO2) was synthesized by a hydrothermal route using cerous chloride (CeCl3) and urea (CO(NH2)2) as raw materials. The supported catalyst Ag/X-CeO2 loaded with Ag was prepared via a photo-deposition approach. The parameter effects for X-CeO2 and Ag/X-CeO2 preparation on the photocatalytic performance in degradation of rhodamine (RhB) under visible light irradiation were investigated, respectively. The X-structured CeO2 sample with the length of 20 μm and the width of 4 μm was generated at Ce3+/urea moral ratio of 1:6, Ce3+/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) mass ratio of 1:3, reaction temperature of 160 ℃, and reaction time of 60 min. The X-CeO2 sample loaded with metallic Ag can enhance the photocatalytic performance in degradation of RhB under visible light region. The 8-Ag/CeO2 sample with Ag loading content of 8% exhibits the excellent photocatalytic activity, and slightly deactivates after five cycles. This is ascribed to the synergetic effect of plasma resonance combined with redox couple of Ce4+/Ce3+, which can improve the effusion rate of photoexcited electrons and effectively facilitate the separation of photo-induced electron-hole pairs. ©2018, Editorial Department of Journal of the Chinese Ceramic Society.
