Intermediate fluid vaporizer(IFV) is a crucial component for liquefied natural gas(LNG) floating storage and re-gasification unit(FSRU). Two-phase heat transfer process of propane is widely used in IFVs. To decrease the size of IFVs, the sub-cooled intermediate heat transfer process is presented in this paper. Taking propane as the intermediate fluid, an experiment was performed for the heat transfer characteristics of fluids, according to the practical using background, do the experiments to find out the factors which may affect the heat transfer process. The results show that the inclined channel may strengthen the heat transfer in a small scale; the temperature of seawater may change during a whole year, the heat provided by intermediate fluid may increase when the temperature of seawater is increased; the heat transfer coefficient will be larger under a larger velocity of seawater. © All Right Reserved.
