摘要
Based on Miner's rule of linear damage accumulation and S-N curves, fatigue strength assessment of wave-piercing catamaran (WPC) is performed by employing spectral-based analysis. First, a finite element model of ship structure is built. Then principal stress transfer functions of hot spots are calculated at several wave frequencies and wave headings. Fatigue strength assessment of the hot spots is conducted using wave scatter diagrams of the North Atlantic as the wave loading spectrum. The result is helpful to structural design of the joints of similar wave-piercing catamaran (WPC).
