Norske Skog Canada (NSCL) has agreed to acquire the fellow Canadian company, Pacifica Papers. Norske Skog will have a stake of 36% in the new company. The new company will still be known as Norske Skog Canada, and will increase the production to 1.9 million tonnes/yr of paper and 570,000 tonnes/yr of pulp, bringing NSCL to the third position in the North American newsprint and speciality mechanical papers market.
