摘要
Four stone masonry wall specimens strengthened with steel-meshed modified cement mortar were tested under cyclic horizontal loading. Parameters investigated included the strength of modified cement mortar, strength of reinforcing steel bars, and strengthening modes (single-faced or double-faced). The failure mode, bearing capacity, hysteretic loops, skeleton curve, and energy-dissipation capacity of specimens were investigated. It is found that the shear strength and energy-dissipation capacity of the strengthened walls are increased significantly compared to the unstrengthened walls. Adopting double-faced strengthening method and increasing mortar strength can further improve the shear strength, and the former one is much more effective. An empirical model to calculate the bearing capacity of strengthened walls is proposed and the predicted values agree well with the test ones. © 2016, Editorial Office of Journal of Building Structures.
