The impacts of climate change in Spain

The climate, the statistical distribution function of the meteorological and ocean climate variables of the planet is changing today at a rate 10 times higher than natural historical and geological changes. This change does not only imply a shift of the mean values but also, and far more importantly, an increase in the probability of extreme values, the so-called tails of the distribution functions. An increase in extreme values gives far higher probabilities of floods, tornadoes, long droughts, storm surges and a rise in sea level of some seven metres over 200 years.
