摘要：
The article discusses the developments and trends in municipal solid waste management. New regulations and market place conditions have resulted in significant consolidation of facilities and the public agencies that own and operate these agencies. As municipal governments are forced to provide more services with less tax revenues, more communities are reassessing the services they provide and are looking for more efficient ways to perform those services.
