The variation asymptotic beam section analysis method(VABS)is used to calculate the sectional properties of the composite blades. Coupled with the Euler-Bernoulli beam model, the influence on the calculation accuracy of the dynamic performance based on the different references is analyzed. Results are compared with both the multi-cell beam method and the ANSYS using shell elements. It is demonstrated that the sectional properties with high precision coupled with the beam model could achieve the same accuracy as modeled by the three-dimensional shell element. The shear center should be chosen as the reference if the bend-twist coupling effect is considered. Also, the influence of the aeroelastic response based on different reference systems is analyzed combined with the unsteady blade element momentum method. © 2017, Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
