Blind processing sharpens images

The development of a blind deconvolution technique to restore partially degraded optical images was discussed. The technique was simple to execute and required no iterations. The method involved the removal of the phase information from the data and the application of the smoothing function. The Fourier transform of the degraded data was raised to the power alpha and multiplied by a constant to replace the effect of transfer function. Alpha determined for a specific system was used for all additional data within that system.
