Digital farm project is an international collaborative engineering project for engineers as well as for students. This paper aims to provide the steps to be followed to draw up a successful action plan. To conduct this type of project, it is imperative to proceed in stages, have expert human resources in the field, and possess appropriate and efficient software with perfect control over it. It is also advisable to start with a multi-site project in a critical size before embarking on a project involving a hundred users. Finally, it is essential to have a network of trusted international partners with required skills in the field. © SAGE Publications.
