Wind simulation in physical model experiment of ocean engineering

In the physical model experiment which studies the floating body in ocean engineering, two wind-filed simulation methods are discussed. The testing result shows that the open-style method is superior to the wind-tunnel method. Due to the reason of more satisfactory wind-filed quality and economical cost, the former method is recommended. Meanwhile, based on the experiment which adopts model vessels with different scales to test the mooring force in wind-filed, model similarity, scale effect, wind speed scale ratio and the like are studied, and the rational correction coefficient of wind speed in gravity similarity rules is eventually obtained.
