Test on the mechanical behavior of semi-precast recycled concrete elements

In this paper, four semi-precast recycled concrete U-shaped beams and six semi-precast recycled concrete -typed columns were designed to test the shear and seismic behavior of semi-precast recycled concrete elements. The experimental factors were the construction methods and replacement ratio of recycled aggregates. The results show that the shear failure modes and mechanisms of semi-precast U-shaped beam were similar to those of the whole cast ordinary concrete beams. Shear capacity of semi-precast beams with the same shear-to-depth ratio was similar that of the cast-in-situ ones. For the -typed columns, the energy dissipation capacity decreased with the increase of replacement ratio of recycled aggregates and the construction method affected the seismic performance. In addition, the load capacity of semi-precast columns changed with different dimensions of core columns.
