Prospects of application of intelligent PID controller in power plant thermal process control

Intelligent PID controller combines conventional PID controller with intelligent control technology. The main research results in the combining of fuzzy control, neural networks and genetic algorithm with conventional PID controller are presented in this paper. The research works on application of intelligent PID controller in power plant major thermal process control system are reviewed. Theoretical study and actual application proves that the application of intelligent PID controller in power plant thermal process control is effective and practicable and with broad prospects. The research direction of the intelligent PID controller and problems remaining to be solved are pointed out and some proposal for the application of the intelligent PID controller in power plant thermal process control are also presented.
