Non-linear behaviour of the die cushion control is one of the difficult-to-predict influential factors in deep-drawing operations. This is making itself felt especially when the control system is to function in the marginal areas of the parameters stroke frequency, drawing depth and blank holder force. A newly developed control system of Umformtechnik Erfurt can now compensate this non-linear behaviour to such a degree that the overshooting behaviour as previously observed at low pressures and high stroke frequencies can be reduced to a minimum.
