Radiation resistance of the reactor grade graphite with increased operational properties

Neutron-fluence dependence of dimensional variations, thermal expansion coefficient, dynamic modulus of elasticity and strength limits of the samples of high-strength graphite are determined after irradiation at 360-400°C to the fluence of 6.5&middot1026 m-2 (E>0.18 MeV). It is shown that graphite shape variation achieves the stage of secondary swelling. The graphite state is characterized by scattered failure. Effect of the initial density in the range of 1.58-1.9 g/cm3 is found.
