The renewal and expansion of ferry services across the U.S. under the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st century-widely known by the acronym TEA-21 is discussed. The Bush Administration's vision wrapped in the $247 billion proposal called, 'The Safe, Accountable, Flexible and Efficient Transportation Equity Act of 2003' is presented. The privatization of Staten Island Ferry and FED funds for fuel cell ferry are also elaborated.
