摘要
Lendell Manufacturing Inc (LMI) has introduced an advanced medical foam for dressing wounds. Microbisan™ absorbent dressing is the first to contain the antimicrobial Alphasan from Milliken Chemical to help keep wounds free of contamination. Alphasan a non-toxic antimicrobial based on the use of silver ions. LMI specializes in a unique polyurethane production process that uses large amounts of water-up to 300% stoichiometic equivalents. This two- shot liquid prepolymer process allows complete dispersion of additives throughout the finished foam, it claims. Antimicrobial AlphaSan was chosen over other antimicrobials because of its safety, broad range efficacy and durability. As the dressing absorbs wound fluids, the antimicrobial in the foam keeps the wound free of contamination. The long-lasting antimicrobial effectiveness continues to work, even when dressings are changed less regularly.
