摘要
The brittleness is one of the most important mechanical properties of rocks, especially in deep formations. The research on brittleness is of great significance to the deep rock mass engineering and the underground resources development. In recent years, the brittleness has become a significant descriptor in optimizing construction parameters and guiding hydraulic fracturing for unconventional oil and gas reservoirs. However, there are still some conflict understandings on the definition and evaluation of rock brittleness, and there are no widely-accepted rules or standards for the brittleness quantitative characterization. In this paper, the basic principle, research progress and application status of various rock brittleness evaluation methods have been summarized, and existing problems and the future development trend of rock brittleness evaluation have been discussed. This paper provides a reference for the rock brittleness evaluation criteria. © 2018, Editorial Department OIL GEOPHYSICAL PROSPECTING. All right reserved.
